Simsbury Library Print
Display
We provide the library with
framed prints every month for display. Stop by and take a look. Or better
yet, join our club and display your prints.

We invite all members to
participate in our inner club competitions
Print Competition Rules
Prints are judged during each monthly
meeting.
Three prints of any size may be submitted.
Print entries
SHALL NOT
be framed or signed.
Prints may be matted and mounted.
Please put prints in
a clear protective sleeve to avoid any damage.
Subject: Open
Prints may be color or black and white made from negative film, digital
or slide. Each print to be labeled on back with
image title and name of the maker. Prints
are to be brought to each monthly meeting for judging.

Each year the NECCC invites member clubs to submit images
for critique by expert photographers. We submitted our images in the fall of
last year. The comments on the images are combined into a DVD (with images)
that is provided to the submitting club. This DVD will be the presentation for
this month's meeting. This is a great
opportunity to hear what the experts think about our efforts. The DVD last year
was excellent so I expect the one from this year to be equally good.

I spent a week in Churchill, Manitoba,
expecting to see ice, snow, bears and winter birds. It turned out to be quite
different than planned, leading to a lot of questions and not many good
answers. What happens to the polar bears of Hudson Bay when the bay doesn’t
freeze on time? And what happens to the birds that are migrating in and out
of Churchill a month earlier and later than 20 years ago? The program also
features beautiful photos of bears and cubs in their normal wintry habitat.
